This website uses only the cookies it needs to work. It sets no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies, and it does not follow you around the web. One thing to be aware of is the embedded quote form, which comes from a third party and may set cookies of its own when it loads.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. Cookies can keep a site working, remember a choice you made, or, on many sites, track what you do for advertising and statistics. We do not use cookies for the last two purposes.
Cookies set by this website
The site itself sets only strictly necessary cookies, such as those that keep pages loading correctly and the site secure. These do not need your consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations because the site cannot work properly without them. They do not identify you personally and are not used for marketing.
Our fonts are hosted on our own site rather than fetched from an outside font service, so loading them does not pass your details to another company.
The quote form
The quote form on this website is provided by a third-party customer relationship management provider. When the form loads, that provider may set its own cookies or similar technology, for example to keep the form working, to protect it against spam or to record that a submission came from this page. We do not control those cookies, and their use is governed by the provider's own policies.
What you type into the form is handled as described in our privacy policy. If you would rather not load the form at all, you can email us at info@brightviewskylightsexeter.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp instead.
Maps
The contact and areas pages show a map. The map tiles load from OpenStreetMap, which does not set tracking cookies. Your browser will still send your IP address to OpenStreetMap's servers in the ordinary way when it requests the tiles, as it does for any web request.
Links to other websites
Where a page links to another site, such as a government page about planning or Building Regulations, that site may set its own cookies. We have no control over them, so check the cookie information on those sites when you arrive.
How to control cookies in your browser
You can see, block and delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so is usually under Privacy or Security. Blocking all cookies may stop the quote form from working, because it relies on its provider's cookies to submit. Each browser has its own steps, so look in its help section. The government's guidance on cookies and the rules behind them is available through the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
If you use a private or incognito window, cookies are normally cleared when you close it.
Changes and questions
If we ever add a service that uses non-essential cookies, such as analytics, we will update this page first and ask for your consent before setting them. For any question about cookies on this site, email info@brightviewskylightsexeter.co.uk.
